NUMBER ONE

Sonequa Martin-Green, has been cast as the lead in the upcoming CBS Television Studios series Star Trek: Discovery (2017), Entertainment Weekly confirms. Martin-Green will be playing ‘Number One’ Lieutenant Commander Rainsford on the Starship USS Discovery. (This post will be updated as more details come in).

The news has not yet been confirmed by the official Star Trek twitter account, unlike the previous announcement of mega-star Michelle Yeoh  

Martin-Green will be the first African American female to lead  a Star Trek series. She is known for AMC’s mega-hit The Walking Dead. No confirmation from Sonequa Martin-Green’s official twitter account.

Star Trek: Discovery hits the small screen in 2017, and is shaping up to be a exciting MUST-SEE series.
