NEW MUSIC | Janelle Monáe – PrimeTime ft. Miguel

Janelle Monae teams up with Miguel on this groove track, PrimeTime. The singer is set to drop her new album, and begin touring  ‘The Electric Lady’.

Monae is somewhat of an oddity among her peers in the music biz.  The protege of Sean Combs, she’s like the female version of Andre 3000, who doesn’t conform to the typical image of a sexed up female pop singer.   Her previous albums Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase) and The ArchAndroid were both epic listening experiences with a sound that is orchestral and cinematic, sci-fi meets hip hop.  Truly Monae is on a whole other level.

Shes been around for a few years now, but Monae hasn’t really taken off as a household name. It could be that her third time is her Prime Time.
