The Jurassic movie franchise has been on hiatus since 2001, set to make it’s return with Jurassic World, with a theatrical release date June 2015.

The brand new trailer to Jurassic World looks to be a fun action adventure with a return to the roots of the series, but will the movie rekindle the charm of the original?

We’re betting it won’t, and here’s why:

Spielberg is credited as Executive Producer. IF he were in the director’s seat I’m sure the creative vision for Jurassic World would be different and feature Spielberg’s creative quirks.

TOO MUCH CGI

 

What made the original Jurassic Park so magical was the use of top notch computer graphics bringing dinos to life. The movie won multiple awards and made advancements in animation technology. Jurassic World, features large scale CGI. When there’s too much CGI, it’s not really awe-inspiring, it’s boring.

Nowadays audiences have been bombarded with computer graphics that it’s no longer a special thing. The suspension of disbelief is gone. Blockbuster movies are all about upping the CGI (LOTR series, The Avengers, Iron Man, etc), but that doesn’t make a movie better.
