THE MATRIX
The Matrix 4 is dropping in December 2021, but there are very few details about the highly anticipated sequel. From the castings and characters revealed online so far we as fans can theorize and ASSUME a few things.

Wachowski DIRECTING DUO no more.
Only Lana Wachowski is credited as director. Though Wachowski Productions is credited as an official production company. The Wachowski’s directing movies together is a thing of the past.
NEO AND TRINITY ARE BACK
Can’t reboot The Matrix without Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. When we left the series at The Matrix Revolutions (2003) humanity is saved but Neo is sacrificed. Just from Neo and Trinity being in The Matrix 4 film we can assume that they are REUNITED.
A NEW THREAT?
The Matrix Revolutions ended with a PEACE for Zion. So It’s possible a new threat arises or old enemies resurface.
OFFICIAL TITLE?
What happens after a Revolution and the main character sacrifices him or herself? RESURRECTION or REBIRTH. Would the next The Matrix movie continue with the Rs?
MORPHEUS IS NOT BACK?
No mention of Laurence Fishburne on the IMDB page. The character could have been killed off. However, Fishburne did appear with Keanu in John Wick 3.
Niobe is BACK.
The popular character Niobe is back. Niobe captain of the Logos appeared in the videogame Enter the Matrix, and movies The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions.
Merovingian is BACK
Lambert Wilson who played The Merovingian was introduced in The Matrix Reloaded. The character exists as a keeper of information on the black market. So we can assume The Merovingian has MORE IMPORANT INFORMATION to share with the main characters.
Christina Ricci JOINS.
Christina Ricci is new The Matrix series. Could her character be an AI connected to The Merovingian or human as part of Zion.
Daniel Bernhardt is BACK.
Daniel Bernhardt played a supporting character called AGENT JOHNSON who appeared in The Matrix Reloaded who basically brawls. Why the character returns in The Matrix 4 is unknown. We could ASSUME Agent Johnson has been elevated to the new Agent Smith or Agent Johnson joins forces with Neo and Trinity.
Bernardt is a well known stuntman and martial artist who appeared in John Wick.
NEW CREW? NEW VILLAINS? UNKNOWNS?
Neo and Trinity need a new crew to assist. Maybe a few of these characters will be in the team or battling against them.
Jessica Henwick, appeared in Marvel’s Iron Fist as Colleen Wing.
Prianka Chopra, appeared in Quantico TV series.
Jonathan Groff, appeared in Mindhunter TV series.
Ellen Hollman, NCIS: New Orleans.
Neil Patrick Harris, DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, appeared in Aquaman and Watchmen TV series.
Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, Erendira Ibarra appeared in the Wachowski’s Sense8 series.
LESS KUNG FU?
Fighting styles in today’s movies is much different from 2001. Wire Fu is not popular. Rather, MMA style is dominate thanks to movies like The Bourne Identity, and even Captain America / The Avengers. It’s possible there is less Hong Kong martial arts wire work, or maybe none at all.
John Wick director and The Matrix stunt alum Chad Stahelski is not part of The Matrix 4. Stahelski is attached to John Wick: Chapter 4, Highlander, Ghost of Tsushima, Gangsters of Shanghai, Sandman Slim, Rain, Kill or Be Killed, and Classified.
Hong Kong style action is notorious for many months of preparation and brutal schedules. Maybe not possible for The Matrix 4.
NO ROB ZOMBIE
No Rob Zombie on the soundtrack. Dragula made The Matrix!
The Matrix 4 is coming to theaters and HBO Max December 2021.
