TV | THE TRUTH IS STILL OUT THERE WELCOME BACK X-FILES THIS SUMMER FOR SIX EPISODES
MULDER AND SCULLY RETURN
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 13 years since the last episode of ‘The X-Files’ aired on FOX. From 1993 to 2002, the show glued viewers to their TV screens, exploring the dark reaches of science fiction, and mystery. FBI agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) searches for the disappearance of his sister, and is teamed up with Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) a sceptic of the paranormal, who are both assigned to the X-Files. Cases of strange disappearances, reports of UFOs, and bizarre sightings.
While the actors went on to many other roles in their successful careers, X-Files quickly became a hit, a pop culture phenomena setting a bar in television quality. It spawned two feature films leaving many to wonder, when will the show return to the small screen.
With the TV landscape having a bit of a revival, with shows like LOST, 24, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Twin Peaks, and many other series in the last few years building a loyal fanbase with the quality of storytelling, is now a good time for more X-Files?
YES.
The aging fanbase has been eagerly awaiting for a return. X-Files is not just a show. It’s a brand and the fans will follow. With the six-episodes this summer, will there be potential for another spin off series?
Chris Carter’s other project The After on Amazon Prime was cancelled.
Indeed the Truth is STILL out there!
