Exciting news for the upcoming Star Trek Discovery CBS All Access series.
International superstar Michelle Yeoh is headlining the series. Yeoh will be playing Captain Georgiou of starship Shenzhou. Yes, martial arts action star Michelle Yeoh of classic Hong Kong cinema, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in STAR TREK.
Doug Jones will be playing Lt. Saru, ‘a Starfleet science officer and an alien species’.
Lt. Stamets an astromycologist ‘fungus expert and Starfleet science officer’.
Remember this series is taking place 10 years before Star Trek the original series. It follows the USS Discovery starfleet ship.
The season-long storyline revolves around “an incident and an event in Star Trek history that’s been talked about but never been explored”.

by Gene Roddenberry is set to premiere in summer May 2017 on CBS, CBS All Access and Netflix.
