STAR TREK SECTION 31 SERIES DELAYED MICHELLE YEOH JOINS AVATAR SEQUELS PARAMOUNT PLUS | TV | SUSHIBOMB.NET

STAR TREK

Star Trek: Section 31 is still all just talk between Alex Kurtzman and Paramount+ programming chief Julie McNamara. The Star Trek: Discovery spinoff with Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou sounds like a cool idea, but it’s a long way from production.

Star Trek series centering on Philippa Georgiou, a member of Section 31, a shadowy intelligence agency operating within the Federation.

There’s a lot of Star Trek going on right now. The Star Trek universe is expanding at rapid pace. Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Strange New Worlds. Is there room for ANOTHER Trek series?

Kurtzman and McNamara say there are still “conversations” about a new “Star Trek” series around Michelle Yeoh’s Philippa Georgiou and the mysterious Section 31, and there are other “Trek” shows in development that haven’t been previously announced. But they emphasized that the current five-series slate will likely not expand further until at least one of the shows runs its course. source Variety

Section 31 was announced/teased even before there was a Strange New Worlds or Prodigy.

Strange New Worlds starring Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock is going to be a hit with Trekkies, bringing back popular characters and much needed space exploration.

Looks like we’re gonna have to wait to see Michelle Yeoh in Star Trek again. The popular actress who got her start in Hong Kong Cinema is very busy these days. Yeoh is set to appear in the Avatar films as Dr. Karina Mogue.

Section 31 could get shelved indefinitely.

If Section 31 were to go forward at Paramount+ which series would be ending to make room for Section 31: Picard or Discovery? Place your bets now.

Are the days of 7 season Star Trek shows over?
