Star Trek Beyond started out with a rough marketing campaign. The early trailers just didn’t seem to connect with audiences or the Trekkie fanbase. In fact, the first trailer which featured ‘Sabotage’ a track from Beastie Boys was heavily disliked when it hit Youtube in December 2015.
However, the negativity around the Paramount Pictures / Skydance Productions has ended and the hype machine has rebounded. The buzz around the movie is mostly positive especially after the big Star Trek fan event.

Star Trek Beyond directed by Justin Lin hits theaters July 22.
