GADGETS | MOTO X 2014 SMARTPHONE BIGGER BETTER
Moto X 2014
Motorola’s sleeper hit of 2013 the Moto X smartphone had a bit of a rocky start with it’s debut. There were issues with the MotoMaker customization (Available in the US only), the engraved backplates and many felt the disappointing camera and low specs were not enough to justify the price point.
Even then, the Moto X, offered up something completely different from what the the competitors were offering, with the personalized custom experience, touch-less control, and smooth performance.
Looks like Motorola took a page from Apple, with refining the user’s experience.
The second generation Moto X is a big step forward with improvements from a wider 5.2 1080p display, updated camera, to metal framing. Inside it’s 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 2 GB RAM, and optimized pure Android. Touch-less control is now named MotoVoice.
The phone is available in the US for $499.99 unlocked or on a two-year contract with Verizon, and in Canada with Telus.
