THE SUICIDE SQUAD!

Not be confused with Suicide Squad (2016) directed by David Ayer. Though the film launched the supervillain group for DCEU, it wasn’t a good movie and was poorly received.

Flash forward to 2021, THE SUICIDE SQUAD a sequel with a new director and a new story separate from the first movie, reintroducing the cast of characters and adding a few more bad guys from the DC comics.

Don’t call it a reboot.

The Suicide Squad is directed by James Gunn. Remember him from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy? He’s also working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 set for 2023.

The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Taika Waititi, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis (Amanda Walker), Idris Elba (Bloodsport), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Michael Rooker (Savant), Alice Braga (SolSoria), Nathan Fillion (T.D.K), Pete Davidson (Blackguard), John Cena (Peacemaker), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Sean Gunn (Weasel), Mikaela Hoover (Camila), and more.

There’s a lot of characters in this movie! Some notable additions/supervillains are Bloodsport (Idris Elba), T.D.K (Nathan Fillion), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), King Shark (Steve Agee), Ratchatcher II (Daniela Melchior) and Peacemaker (John Cena).

John Cena will be getting a spin off series called Peacemaker based on his character to be on HBO Max
