FOODIES INDIE MEETS MAINSTREAM

The awesome Andrew Zimmern food show host and personality of Travel Channel’s ‘Bizarre Foods’ is filming a new show in Bangkok Thailand. Vlogger Mark Wiens an expert on the Bangkok food scene popular on youtube for his videos, will be appearing in the episode.

That’s right, an entirely new travel food show from Andrew Zimmern and production company Intuitive Content:

Almost exactly one year later, Patrick contacted me, saying Andrew and the team were coming to Bangkok to film a brand new TV show (the name of the show is still unknown at this time), and wanted to film a couple scenes of me taking Andrew around and eating.

Zimmern’s most recent work was on Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations. The title of the new series, and the details of the episode are unknown. IMDB does not show his current filming status.

This crossover is kind of a big deal for video creators, foodies, and food fans. It’s great to see independent travel bloggers/vloggers get noticed by mainstream television producers for their content. Indie food travellers can reach their audiences faster, and create content without a gatekeeper, so having a well respected food expert like Andrew Zimmern recognize Mark Wiens for his accomplishments is great.
