GEAR | SNOODIE, THE NEW HOODIE?

So apparently GEAR conscious film geeks noticed this little piece of costume design in Ridley Scott’s latest sci-fi epic ‘Prometheus’ over the summer. Only featured in one scene early in the film, the Biologist character Milburn is seen sporting a strange variation of a hoodie. It’s like a turtleneck, crossed with a hoodie and it looks very comfortable. Perfect for the chilly interior of a spacecraft.

Upon searching Google which led me to a ‘Prometheus’ forum, the Milburn sci-fi hoodie, looks to be something called a ‘Snood‘ or ‘Snoodie‘. A wide funnel neck that sits halfway on the head.

The hoodie featured in the film looks like it was made by a company called Unconditional,  Funnel Neck Sweatshirt. Currently sold out. More specifically, the MS66 Dirty White Sweat.

A South Korean company called NanNom is selling something similar.

Dot Rotten was sporting something that could be a snood in the music video ‘Karmageddon’.

The hoodie is such a staple of a person’s wardrobe, but the snoodie adds something a bit more eye-catching and different.
